Winter Jam 2010: North Charleston

Robert Pierre - Wednesday, March 03, 2010

Happy Valentines Day everyone! I hope today was a great day for you all. As much as today is all about love, let us not forget who loved us first. No, I'm not talking about your girlfriend or your mom, although today should be made special for them, I’m talking about Jesus Christ. He loved us so much that he was willing to lay down his life for us. Isn’t that amazing to think about? Well, that is what Jam Church was all about today. Tony gave a beautiful analogy of how we are like people who graphiti and our sin is like the paint dripping form our hands, and although God could see that we were guilty of graffiti, vandalism, or whatever sin that is for you, He still chose to love us and send His Son to take our punishment for us. What a great way to start off the day!  read more

Winter Jam 2010: Greenville

Robert Pierre - Wednesday, March 03, 2010

A phrase to describe today would be this: “Hurry up and wait.” Due to the terrible snowstorm that has come through the area, we were struggling to make it here on time. The roads were really icy and the driving was tough. If we were in the North, it might not have been as much of a problem. But it rarely snows here in the South and the drivers are more nervous and have to be more careful. So if the icy roads weren’t enough for our drivers, we all got caught in bumper-to-bumper traffic… Our crew needs about 5 hours to set up once we arrive at an arena. They can do it in four and a half if absolutely necessary. We typically pull into a venue by 8 or 10 in the morning. So when we finally pulled into the Greenville arena, it was already 1:00 in the afternoon, and our crew only had three hours and 45 minutes until doors opened! The crew immediately jumped out of their busses and got to work. Let me tell you, you’ve never seen a harder working crew… they were focused, organized, like a well-oiled machine. And in the end, they had it all up and running. Amazing.  read more

Winter Jam 2010: Mobile

Robert Pierre - Wednesday, March 03, 2010

“Sweet home, Alabama, where the skies are so blue.” We only wish that is what today is like! The song really should have been, “Cold, cold, Alabama, where the snow is very new.” Yep, that’s right; I said it, snow in Alabama! None of us could believe it. Like, when is there snow in Alabama? But it’s true… we arrived in Mobile this morning to great, big, wet snowflakes. The weather has been crazy this tour…. But, as I said yesterday, the show must go on! I’m starting to wonder if every week, having a terrible snowstorm right where we are, is really a coincidence…  read more
